Getting Admitted

After you've decided that you want to go to college, you have to apply for admission. Here's a checklist:

• Apply online at GoHigher Kentucky or get an application from the school's admission office.
• Have your high school transcript sent to the school.
• Get a housing application if you're going to live on campus.
• Find out about deposits, orientations and registering for classes.
• Find out what tests are required.

Other things to think about

• Enrollment contracts explain what you can expect from a school. Read the contract carefully before you sign it, and make sure you get any promises in writing.
• Early Decision commits you to enroll in a school if you're admitted.
• Early Action means you receive a decision before the normal response date.
• A transfer framework helps plan your college program if you're going to transfer from one public college to another.
• The Kentucky Virtual Campus offers online courses and programs.
